Facility Dogs

A facility dog is a dog that is trained to work with their handler to assist those around them. You usually find facility dogs in heath care and the education system. Blue Collar Canines facility dogs are trained to perform service dog tasks that may help the community they are working with.

You may find a facility dog in: special education, child life specialists, therapists, social work, and criminal justice

Requirements

  1. Work at least 15 hours a week

  2. Work in a setting where a facility dog would benefit those they would be interacting with

  3. Able to maintain the dogs training and needs after graduation

  4. Have a recommendation letter from your employer
